0.3.1 Menus & Modules
Hello people! It is I, Nökin, and I have come to give you a new update. In this update, I've added player upgrades (Called "Modules" to not confuse them with the Upgrade entity type) along with the main menu and how-to-play menu. You may also notice that the post-processing is gone and will remain that way till I found out a bug going on with it.
Modules
Level one comes with six modules in total, although two more will be added along with the modules from the new levels next update.
- Data Boost - Increases the amount of XP gained by 10% (Stackable)
- Turbo Protocol - Increases speed by 5% (30% Max)
- Auto Repair - Every 15 seconds, the Core regains 1 HP (Stackable)
- Whitelist - All Upgrades become intangible for 4 seconds. 20 second cooldown (Active Ability)
- Detonator - When you destroy a virus, it explodes and destroys nearby viruses
- Redundancy - Increase max Core HP by 2 (Stackable)
These are the six total upgrades. Each time you level up, you will be prompted to pick between three different options; One of two modules or to decline. Declining to take a module gives you 300 points.
Entities
There is only one new enemy, but a few others had their behaviors and/or stats tweaked a bit.
- Patch (Upgrade) - The patch is a slow moving upgrade that provides defense and support. Like the player, any viruses that touch the Patch will be destroyed and all rewards from doing so are gained. Once it makes it way to the core, it will heal for 4 HP.
- XP - Equal to current Core HP
- Damage - 6 damage if destroyed
Bugs
- As previously sad, the post-processing was being uncooperative and making everything bloom way too much, but only when I exported the game. In the engine everything looks fine but once on Itch it gets messed up.
- Music doesn't play for when entering the level.
- Some symbols used in game (I.E.: /, %, ^, etc...) appear as a 2/5 symbol. Once again it appeared fine in the engine but once exported to Itch the thing was messed up.
